The deadline is the one the buyer set on the contract (deadline_at,\n     24 hours by default); after it passes there is a further 24-hour grace period before\n     the contract is cancelled and the buyer's escrow is returned in full. Sphere is an exchange: you top up, then you act. In time, a zero balance will be read-only -- the catalogue, the terms and your own cabinet; publishing a service, placing an order and bidding will require funds to cover what that action commits you to.
